Objectives of This Role:
As part of our Neuromorphic Computing and Cognitive AI R&D team, your mission will be to help shape the future of AI solutions for DoD systems, avionics, UAS, radar, EW, and sensor fusion. You will help us design, develop, and test AI algorithms that can be deployed to real-world aerospace subsystems, driving impactful technological advancements.
- Develop AI Solutions: You’ll work on 2nd and 3rd Gen AI systems (Neuromorphic Computing), developing AI algorithms for embedded aerospace systems, EW, UAS/UAV, and more.
- Neuromorphic Computing: Work with cutting-edge hardware like Intel’s Loihi 2 or other neuromorphic chips, implementing Spiking Neural Networks (SNN) and driving AI advancements for aerospace subsystems.
- Machine Learning (ML): You’ll contribute to the algorithm selection, ML training, and testing for systems ranging from sensor fusion to situational awareness.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Support engineering programs, interface with academic institutions, and present solutions to customers, making sure we stay on the cutting edge of AI research and development.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- AI System Development: Build and integrate AI systems for neuromorphic computing, UAS, radar, EW, and other aerospace subsystems.
- Algorithm & Hardware Integration: Develop solutions utilizing neuromorphic hardware (such as Loihi 2), ensuring optimal performance for aerospace systems.
- Data & Analytics: Design data flows, conduct data analytics, and collaborate to optimize machine learning models for system efficiency and intelligence.
- R&D & Proposal Writing: Participate in literature reviews, write proposals, and help implement systems based on state-of-the-art research.
- Code Implementation: Write Python and C++ code for AI systems and ML testing. Work across different technology stacks to make AI systems work in aerospace environments.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and stakeholders to solve complex problems in sensor correlation, fusion, and situational awareness.
What We’re Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent technical field.
- Experience or academic exposure to developing AI systems using C, Python, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, or other AI frameworks.
- Knowledge of Spiking Neural Networks (SNN), and experience with algorithm/method selection and ML training.
- Academic experience in data analytics, machine learning, and AI system design.
Skills & Expertise:
- Familiarity with neuromorphic computing (hardware like Loihi 2 is a plus).
- Strong coding skills in Python, C++, and experience with AI development environments.
- Understanding of ML algorithms, data structures, and sensor fusion.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and real-time computing.
- Ability to interface with academic institutions and present research findings.
- Critical thinking and a passion for AI innovation in the context of defense and aerospace.
