Your Opportunity:
Stantec is looking for an Environmental Inspector to join our Environmental Group at our Roseville, California office. This role is an exciting opportunity to be hands-on in environmental management, providing both field and technical support services for a variety of environmental programs, including water and waste management. You’ll have the chance to collaborate with experts and gain valuable experience while contributing to projects that protect the environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Field Data Collection: Perform and document field activities related to environmental management projects, including soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and wastewater sampling.
• Multi-Media Sampling: Conduct environmental sampling using state-of-the-art equipment, such as pH monitors, HACH meters, and colorimetric test kits.
• Site Work Documentation: Document site activities, including sampling, soil and groundwater characterization, water quality monitoring, and more.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Prepare and follow safety documents and participate in client safety meetings. Adhere to Stantec and client safety procedures at all times.
• Reporting & Communication: Prepare and submit daily summaries, site diagrams, and reports, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
• Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Work alongside contractors, project teams, and clients to identify environmental issues, propose solutions, and ensure project compliance.

What We’re Looking For:

• Driven & Organized: A motivated, conscientious, and organized individual who thrives in both independent and team environments.
• Field Experience: Hands-on experience working in construction sites and environmental sampling preferred.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of field sampling testing equipment.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to clearly communicate with contractors, clients, and team members.
• Problem Solver: Ability to recognize environmental compliance issues and work with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
• Travel Ready: Willingness to travel and work in the field, with some weekend work required.

Your Qualifications:

• Education: A college degree in earth science, geology, natural or environmental science, or engineering (preferred).
• Safety Certifications: 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and 10-hour OSHA Construction training preferred (but not required).
• Environmental Experience: Experience with environmental sampling, stormwater management, and environmental compliance monitoring.
• Additional Certifications: QSP, CAC, or CSST certifications are beneficial, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Fieldwork may require exposure to the elements, including inclement weather and heavy equipment.

Compensation:

• Hourly Range: $25 - $35 per hour, depending on experience and location.
• Bonus Eligibility: Certain roles are eligible for bonuses.
